Advice needed regarding school

Hi, I'm at the end of my tether.  My son is 10, attends mainstream school.  He has struggled for years and finally now he's in year 6 he has a good teacher who seems to understand him and goes out of her way to help him.  My problem is with his PE teacher, he has her all afternoon on a Monday and Thursday.  She seems to find things to be difficult about in my opinion to antagonise him.  He will not touch the colour green, if he does touch green he needs to touch  red straightaway otherwise he explodes.  I have agreed with his class teacher that he wears a red charity bracelet on his wrist to counteract touching green.  His PE teacher takes his bracelet off him and puts it in her pocket for the whole lesson and won't give him it back until hometime.  She regularly throws green vests for him to wear and he refuses to put it on, ending in an argument with her.  She refuses to allow him to use the toilet last week, when he asked to go, she replied "Do you have something else wrong with you I haven't been told about" and laughed at him.  He was awarded a house president badge, she told him he didn't deserve to wear it resulting in him having a meltdown in the classroom.   I am seriously thinking of home schooling him I feel he's getting depressed.  I've spoken to his class teacher who says she will have a word with the PE teacher but nothing seems to change.  Has anyone else on here had similiar problems at school.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • if you write a formal letter to the head teacher and the governor of the school, the letter has to be stored in a file that the school inspector looks at when making an assessment of the school, he or she then has to ask the head teacher what he has put in place to help the situation. Don’t let her get away with it, be you sons voice and fight his fight, education is a instrumental part of your son’s life. Don’t hold back and don’t pull no punches, she is going out of her way to be awkward and its bullying. Good luck!
