Hi. I have a 5 year old son on the waiting list for a general development  assesment for suspected autism.

I am struggling with his behaviour at the moment  he screams and shouts at me and other family members  even at his teachers  he is violent to his sister (aged 8) often nipping her and occasionally biting her.  I have absolutely no idea what I am doing just feel like I'm in a black hole with no way out. My daughter is ADHD so when he lashes out at her it can cause her to have emotional outbursts which leaves me with him in complete meltdown along with my daughter screaming the house do with my night worker husband sound asleep in bed.

  • He does get over excited and screams he gets frustrated or mad and he screams. So far last 2 days he's not screamed or shouted much.  Sometimes I think people think he's being mean but he's trying to play. He's not very social. School have said 1 or 2 people and he's fine but anymore join and he starts to struggle that's wen he kicks off.  Sometimes I have no idea how to deal with his behaviour. He has a star chart but didn't seem to help so we r trying reversing it. He starts the day with 4 stars and instead of earning them he has to keep them. Fingers crossed it's working. He's had a good day at school today. we removed his toys a couple weeks ago and have told him for every day he is good he can select a toy to have back. I really have no idea about this kind of stuff its all new to me
