My sons statement units have increased, but I'm having problems with the teacher.

Hello,

  My sons units have increased to 5 hours per day and a teacher who specialises in Autism has been employed (FANTASTIC NEWS).

But I'm experiencing the following:

1. Class Teacher (not the specialist) is refusing to log my sons progress in a book becuase they are too busy??

2. Specialist only sees my son in the afternoon? In the morning he works with the teacher assistant with a group of children?

3. Class teacher is very abrupt when I mention anything to do with my sons tasks, rewards (stickers for being good) and just fails to understand how my son resonds to change and routine.

I'm planning on seeing the Head of the school as I feel the funding allocated to my son is being used for other children and to discuss the attitude of staff towards my requests?

If I get no where with the Head who do I contact? Even the SENCO is starting to join in with the attitude? I used to think she was on my side, but it seems they have ganged up and made there minds up that I'm trouble?

I'm not paranoid, I just want my son to receive the best possible education at a mainstream school and since the extra units and funding, they seem to have an attitude towards me? 

Has anyone else experienced this behaviour?

I'm really low today.

  • hi my son is at a special nursery when he first went the teacher was very nice but i feel that when i tell her somethink she just looks at me as if to say im liying about it my son has been asessed but have not got anywhere some people say he has autisam and because the teacher says he has not they wont do anything at the moment and when we had the assesment the teacher did not tell anyone about my son hiting children and that he has to have a teacher with him at all times which could have helped with the assesment so im in limbo as what to do with my son
