Hi I'm new to this and wondered if anyone could offer any advice. i have a 12 Year old lad who has recently been diagnosed with Aspergers. He is also dyslexic and has dyspraxia. We live in Buckinghamshire and have had difficulties getting his issues accepted as we were always told he wasn't failing enough and this has been going on for the last 6 years.
Following his diagnosis of ASD Camhs have advised us to apply for what was called a statement but we have been told that it would not be possible by the school as he isn't using any of the £6000 that could be allocated by the school. In the end of year 7 exams he excelled in Science and Geography but didn't do very well in Maths and English with his French beating his English grade although he hadn't studied it before secondary. Can anyone advise as I am feeling very confused by the whole process ??
