my son and trains

hello 

im new to this and wanted some advice, i have o take my autistic and adhd son (7) on a 1hr and half train journy and needed some advice to what can make this trip more durable for him. we tried a little 10 min ride on a train and he didnt like it one bit. i have got him headphones to help. i dont want to councel his trip as i dont want him missing out but i dont want him to be disstressed. i need help with what to do i want to help him but i have no idea how. any ideas are welcome thank you. 

  • I had similar concerns regarding my son, especially given that the noise of the engines causes him to feel unwell. We booked tickets in the quiet carriage, went prepared with ipad and headphones, his favourite story books, as well as some magazines about his interests/obsessions, and played games about what we could see out the windows (how many/what animals can you spot, I-spy etc.). Although what worked best was giving him free reign to talk about his obsessions, for three and a half hours...
