What to do after diagnosis?

Hi,

My son is nearly 5 and has just had a diagnosis off CDS for ASD. He is due to start school in September and from what CDS have said he will get the support that he needs in school. However... I feel a little bit lost. So far nobody has told us if there is anything we can do to help him, e.g. therapy of some sort or anything else. I feel like we have been given a diagnosis and left to deal with it without any support at all. We haven't been told where he is on the spectrum, so we are unsure of what help to get him. I have read a bit about CAMHS and was wondering if it is a good idea. I have some concerns over his behaviour at home and his tantrums, just wondering if there is anything else that we can do to support him besides the usual speech and language and pediatric review every once in a while. He is also sensitive to touch, therefore he has feeding problems, he refuses to touch any other food that is not blended and it is making it impossible for us to go out during the day. I feel like I don't know where to go and what to do now, just want to give him the best support I can give him. I was thinking a psychologist might be beneficial, but then it is hard enough to get a referral to the hospital, never mind something else. Just in need of some ideas right now, anything would do. Thanks!
