Treetops School any info?-chances of getting a place?

i was wondering if anyone had any problems with their child getting a place in a specialist school, our only local specialist school is Treetops (thurrock area) which is very over subscribed, we have been told we may have to apply for a main stream school alongside naming treetops on our sons ehcp. But we are not happy with him going to a mainstream school, for various reasons I won't go into but we don't want to put him through going to a mainstream school when a specialist school will meet his needs perfectly. He will not be starting until next september but wondered if anyone had spme experience in what to do if he is refused a place?

  • We are looking into this at the moment, possibly pioneer or treetops. We have been advised toward mainstream by everyone but school who are saying they cannot cope, LO is in nursery at the moment. I do not think they refuse but there are waiting lists but from my understanding these are based on level of need xx
