Hi, just bear with me on this one, just had a phonecall from school so still in a very annoyed and angry mood!!
My son is currently in Year 3 and has started to get upset with himself because he is struggling in maths to the point where he yet doesnt know his 2 multiplications. Spoke to the teacher about this yesterday which resulted in me walking away before i made a scene on the playground because her reply to him being upset was that he should really know them by now!! And now I've just received a phonecall can i please speak to him over the phone because yet again he's crying and is upset with himself this time over his reading and because he couldnt read the book the whole class was reading.
She advised me to download computer apps at home based around english and maths but explain to him that he wouldn't be able to use them in school, now how am i going to be able to explain to a 8 year old asd and ADHD boy, yes you can use the computer at home for learning but your not allowed in school. She made it sound like he doesnt do anything at home, but yet he does an hour of homework each night and half an hour a day at weekends (a daily struggle but i get him to do it all).
What are people's views on do i do as she suggested and can anyone recommend any apps which could be useful??
