No SEND is not what was known as an IEP. SEND stands for Special Educational Needs and Disability, which is the term now being used after the Code of Practice changed in 2004 ( i think). An IEP was a term used in educational settings for a document which detailed the support a child with Special Educational Needs recieved within the setting, sometimes they contained targets which the child worked on within a period of time, half term, term as well as other information. However due to all the new changes some educational settings have moved away from IEPs and are using a vairety of systems. In my school we are using provision maps which 'map' out the provision and support being offered to that specific child. Hope this is useful?!
