hi guys sorry if this isnt the right place to post but brand new to the website and have no idea how to navigate it just yet..
so here it goes i will probably go the long way about explaining as i have a habit of that so please bare with me lol....
my 2 year old son has been under my mothers care since he was born as i have had social services involvement due to being in an abusive relationship she was granted a special gaurdianship order at court last october but it was written that i should start getting unsupervised contact rolling onto overnight stays within 6months of the case which didnt happen due to social services messing around so we took it upon ourselves to arrange the start of contact in may which she stated overnights would start september which has been and gone and from the beginning of october is now saying because she suspects my son has a form of autisim she will not be granting the overnights until she has sought professional help on how would be the best way to introduce overnights without causing him any stress or make him behave in an unruly manner which to my knowledge she has not done. so i have been advised by my solicitor (who thinks mother is being difficult on purpose as we do not have a good relationship at all) to come on here and ask people who have lived the life of a asd parent/carer what they would advise to be the best way to introduce a child who is possibly autistic to having overnight stays at my home once a week.
