And i would like someone to tell me either im overreacting or perhaps in the need to say something.

My son struggles at school i dont think they have ever noticed much because he never said anything.  Anyway they know weve had a tough time at home and especially when routine is changing ect at school like last week going to church sent my son into meltdown mode all weekend.

Well my son told me he struggles all the time with work and i have said if you need help ask for it, if you need time out ask for it, ive said people cannot read your mind you need to ask.

So i think this has taken a lot for my son to do, hes asked for time out once and asks for help if he needs it, but aparently this week when hes asked for help the teacher has told him to stop weining.

Now i have done this on the odd occasion with a neurotypical child, however because its taken a lot for my son to actually ask for help, i feel so bad for him.

My son asked me if ive ever said that to anyone in school, so its playing on his mind and i dont know whever to say something or not, or is it that my son is constantly moaning? or cannot cope at all? i dont know.

  • He is 8 Longman, not sure how much understanding of the spectrum that the teacher has, hes new to the school, his old teacher has my son down to a tee but then she left.

    He moved to Ks2 last year and i asked someone about this this yesterday,well someone that works in his classroom and even though she gave him the answers he could not get that down in writing,so she thinks hes not concentrating.

    School have put him in a group for Maths and Enligh and chill out group everyday and a Sensory group once a week, i also think they have put him in a socail communication group.

    He still tells me hes struggling. Then he comes home and kicks off and threatens to kill himself, as far as im aware hes not being bullied.
