School reporting my husband for hitting m son.

We are in a very difficult situation, the other morning, as usual, we were struggling to get our 12 year old dressed, he fights and refused to lay down so we can take his pad off to clean him and get him dressed. well this particular mornng, he was laying down and kicking off, he sat up and my husband had to placed him back to the floor to get the pad off, something that we have done many a time, just to get him back laying down. its either that or give in and he woudl never get dressed.

Anyway by this time he was in full meltdown mode, but by the time we got him to school he was calmer.

He then apparently started to cry at school and a TA asked him what was up so he typed it on the PC' my dad hit me!!!! well this has started a ball rolling and they have ' reported us to the appropriate services. I am fuming!!!!!!

We have no idea what they plan to do, I have now lost all trust in the school, they know he sometimes uses the wrong words, and have not bothered to ask my husband what exactly happened. my son is now upset that we are all goign to get into trouble, and now is refusing to go back.

Can we complain about their reaction to what was a non situation and that what he said happened , didnt? very very worried about this.

  • Thanks for your reply, I am very surpised at his key worker I thought she had more understanding of him, I really think that her reaction is over the top, she knows us well and my son.

    We are close to pulling him out of the school as they are useless, they allowed him to be bullied last year, he was threatened with sexual violence, we let it go, but now I wish we had gone to the police.The TAs also tell him he is playing silly games when he is having a panic attack and ignore him most of the time, letting him sob on his own. He has been told off for having an unhealthy lunchbox even though we have permission to send in the kind of things that he will eat, they have denied him the toilet in the past even though he is under the continence nurse, they do not have a toilet for the children in learing support! to me that is all abuse.

    I hate the fact that they did not even bother to hear my husbands side and came to me instead.

    I am just getting the impression that, becasue we always complain when things happen,we are probably seen as trouble makers and that they think its acceptable to take this further, I have been told that legally they can use their own discretion as to whether they report it or not.

    I just wish they had talked to my husband first.
