My nephew is 17 and is awaiting diagnosis for Aspergers. He lives with my sister and I worry that my sister will think that with a diagnosis, everything will get better. The hope it things will improve but the worries are:-
- He is extremely intelligent but isn't intesteted in anything except for music but not mainstream music so not easy. The worry is, will he ever be able to work?
- Secondly, I can't see him ever moving out of the family home because I don't think he'd have a clue how to look after himself and if he doesn't get a job, how will he ever afford to move out? I presume he can't just get housing benefit based on having Aspergers or can he?
Hope someone can give me some insight.
