My son's school rang me Friday afternoon and advised that because he had had a bad week he would be unable to go on a school trip Monday unless I went with him. This trip was planned and paid for months ago but they only told me late on Friday, leaving me in a difficult position of trying to get a last minute day off work. Luckily I managed to get it off but I'm so frustrated as they know he has ASD and finds trips difficult but he was also really excited to go and would have been even worse if left behind. He currently has an action plan plus but not statement. Could this be why he isn't getting offered extra support for things like this?
