How can I be sure my son has Aspergers

Hi. Please can anyone help. Is there anywhere I can go or anyone I can talk to informally to get an idea of whether my 19 year old son has Aspergers. He shows many of the symptoms and has had problems from a very young age. I thought he would grow out of them. I'm trying to find out if anyone can talk to my adult son to see if he could have Aspergers, without telling him that the real reason for why they are talking to him. i dont want to tell him I think he has Aspergers straight out, just like that as I don't know how it would make him feel. Besides, what if he doesn't have it? I would have incurred stress for no reason. I'm getting worried now. He is at uni, but I don't think he is employable due to the way he behaves and interracts.

If you want to visit a GP to discuss the idea of diagnosis that may also be a good idea but as you mentioned it is important to consider your son's ability to cope with the stress of this.
