Reduced hours at school

My son is 5 and he's had difficulties for years he has social, emotional and behavioural problems, but now because of this his school have decided to reduce his time at school to 1 hour a day increasing by half an hour every 2 weeks if there is improvement. they are trying to see if they can make him enjoy school again. My problem is what do I do with my little boy for the rest of the time?

  • My son hasn't been diagnosed yet but the feeling from everyone is he is on the spectrum. He has his ados assessment next month.

Unfortunately my son gets very frustrated and can turn very aggressive very quickly generally turning on whoever is closest to him at the time so his teachers and pupils have been hurt by him. The school have tried giving him a quiet place to cool down, they've tried to give him 1 to 1 support, in fact they've tried everything that the paediatrician would implement after he has been diagnosed but unfortunately nothing has worked so they are trying to help him to enjoy school again by only having him in for an hour a day.

I've brought him some art and craft stuff and I'm going to get him some work books to try to keep him occupied because he has no problem learning and his nan is going to take him swimming.
