Hi,
I am new to the site and just saying hello and hoping for a bit of moral support.
My little boy is almost 2 and a half and we are working with paediatricians and occupational health. He isn't speaking yet other than parroting odd words, he flaps and jumps quite a lot and although he loves other children, he finds it difficult to play with them as he doesn't use imaginative play. He is very attached and affectionate with me but not really with his dad. I'm very concerned and upset by the whole process and don't feel I know enough about ASD at the moment. If anyone has been in a similar situation I would really welcome the opportunity to hear your advice.
many thanks xx
. We've all "been in a similar situationW, whether it be years ago, or whether we're brand new to autism. There's loads of info via the posts + home pg so have a look around if you haven't already. I think taking in info in "bite-size chunks" is best, as it's less daunting. You can't learn everything at once + autism affects an individual in different ways. So, ask anything you want, have a look around the site + remember that everyone on here understands.
