Secret SEN panel hearing...HELP!!!

Hi All

Issue

SECRET MEETINGS BY LOCAL AUTHORITY

My 10 year old son was diagnosed last year with Autism and Social Communication Disorder.

The Local Authority are going through the process of Statutory Assessment and his case is going before the SEN panel next Friday 17th. Note I had to go to Appeal just to have the Statutory Assessment as the LA initially refused it...

I'm horrified to discover that they are refusing me access to the meeting. They are also refusing access to anyone attending in my place such as Mencap or a representative from my local MP.

There are no minutes taken at the meeting.

The Chief Education Officer has been complained to and yet the meeting is still going ahead in secret.

Is this legal? Is it allowed....it seems to be in direct conflict with the Codes of Practice.

Any help very much appreciated.
