New to home schooling

Hi,  my son (8) has only just been diagnosed with asperger's.  We decided to home school him before we found this diagnosis out and have just started.  We live in East Ayrshire and I was wondering if there was anyone else out there in East Ayrshire who would be interested in meeting up? Or if there is any advice folks could give me on home schooling an autistic child.  Thanks!

    lol! I know. I have joined "meetup" its a site about aranging to meet people with similar interests etc so i put on mine that i wanted to meet up with people to do with ASD parent groups etc we couls start our own east ayrshire group lol!. I have joined a glasgow based group of people (just because that was the closest to me as there was none in East Ayrshire) and you can arrange through that site to meet up. Perhaps you could have a look at that site too??? of course massive warnings to anyone reading this not to go to any meet ups arranged on the internet alone or without people knowing where you are going to be etc

     

    Also Sanders posted about the carers centre doing support groups, I didnt know this but am going to look into it and will go along to one of thoese meetings too.

     

    Enjoy the library trip, im so pleased the home schooling is going well. Will post on here if the council get back with any info.
