Toilet issues

My four year old DD has been potty trained for wee's for 9-12 months and all is fine in that respect. But she will still not poo on the toilet and prefers to do it in her underwear or night time nappy. We have tried everything from coaxing, potential reward to telling off (Pre diagnosis). Nothing is working.
For the last six months we have tried to take the pressure off, by just having a strict routine of taking her to the toilet after a poo to dispose of it and re-iterate that poo goes in the toilet in a relaxed and positive manner. But we have still not cracked it. She goes to full time mainstream school in September and I am worried that it will be difficult to hold in all day. Anyone have any experience or tips.

  • Hi there, noticed nobody has replied to your post as yet and unfortunately not sure how best to advise. I have a 6 1/2 year old who is still in pull up and quite happy to either stay wet or pee/poo anywhere. he goes trough phases (seemingly untriggered) of being told toilet time. Sometimes will sit but in the main doesn't want to know. I try not to pressure and just go with the flow.
