Hi, I have a 3 year old son with a diagnosis of severe autism, he is non verbal, has major sensory issues, is still in nappies and is a very unsteady walker he also has serious eating issues. He is due to start school this sept and has a my plan in place but we are having serious issues getting our SEN worker to recognise his needs, everyone involved in his care has agreed a special school would be best for him and all of the reports reflected this, and initially our SEN worker agreed with us and everything seemed fine, but we then discovered that our local special school is full and then all of a sudden our SEN worker decided that a mainstream school with a provision would be best, we visited all of the schools that offered this and none of them in our opinion is suitable,we are having a meeting for mediation but dont hold out much hope, we are pullling our hair out and are very concerned for our sons future. Has anyone encountered this kind of problem? is there anything we can do?
