Hi Friends! For my undergraduate thesis, I am focusing on parental stress levels in association with the verbal capabilities of a child with autism. I am looking for parents of children with autism to participate in a short online survey which would take approximately 10- 15 minutes max. Did your dissertation supervisor approve you collecting data in this way? Responsible unuiversities don't allow it.
There are key issues here. While the data gathered is from parents it is about minors, therefore there are sensitive issues about both the collection and disposal of data after use. Anonymous does not prevent identities of people and services being disclosed indirectly in any response quoted. Finally the data collected is from a population you cannot corroborate.
It is poor research practice. The objective of your undergraduate dissertation is to demonstrate that you understand how to do it properly.
