2nd Exclusion this term!

I posted on here back in October about my son being excluded from school. He has just got another 2 day exclusion. He is 6 years old and in year 2 at school. Communication and social interaction are the areas he really struggles with.

He has been doing so well since his last exclusion. So it was a bit out of the blue that I got the call to come and pick him up (although they have been out of normal class routine due to class xmas performance). This time he has been excluded due to 2 incidences in the school on that day. The 1st one was earlier in the school day he wanted to be at the front of the line so banged another childs head against a door frame. 2nd indencent happen later in the day. In his class one pupil gets to take a hand puppet home at the end of the week and he didnt get it so he punched the pupil with 2 hands because he wanted to take the puppet home.

I understand that punishment needs to take place but exclusions doesnt help him. After the last exclusion I explained this to the head of the school but was told that the exclusion is not for him but for the teachers and class to get a break from him! I find all this so frustrating as I was promised a 1:1 for Dylan after October half term but this still hasnt happened.

Am wondering whether to give the school exclusion service a call but dont know whether it is worth it! Will it change anything? Probabley not!
