Equipment required...please advice needed

Hello all,

Pleased I found this group! I have been a foster carer for yonks but recently have a little one aged 2 1/2  who is thought to be autistic ( am stamping feet for more details ;) )

But, next week need to talk to social workers etc about equipment to make life easier for babe and me! He is now in third cot....having broken/eaten/destroyed the others, is there a heavy duty cot out there? he also headbangs, helmet? He strips at night...worried about cold and him discovering nappy (again) clothes that do up at back? He manages to escape from carseat?

So....all the above and more!

Really grateful for any advice ta xxx

  • hi there , we have a crelling harness for the car for our 4 year old . it has been a god send . they are adjustable and very easy to fit ..he also can still use a booster seat with it ...weightedblankets.com and amazon sell weighted vests and blanktets that can help (sometimes) . also our paed recommended tighter fitting pjs or ones that are too small may help at nightime as the give the sence of pressure .. im afraid its trial and error with everything what works for one child may not work for another but everything is worth a try x
