Hi
Just after some advice if possible. I co parent my 7 year old daughter with my ex partner. Sadly had no option but to use the family court for an agreement of an arrangement. Daughter is now on the ASD pathway awaiting assessment.
Co parent now says daughter becomes extremely dysregulated and displays negative behaviours whenever she discusses me with our daughter. And she won't force 'contact' with me.
I'm not wanting my daughter to be forced to see me, but I'm concerned that over time it has become a learned behaviour despite the possible asd, that if she feels anxious and says she doesn't want to see me, and her behaviours escalated, she knows mum won't encourage time with me and she can continue doing what she wishes.
There is a difference in households. I have a new partner. We have rules in our home. Our mediation team called mum the Disney parent who has no rules boundaries and refers to herself as the gentle parent with no demands. However I'm the realistic parent that although a possible ASD diagnosis, there are still some aspects of life for safety and hygiene etc that our daughter should follow.
Time together has ceased completely currently. I'm reaching out for any support or guidance from anyone who may have experienced this before.
I've tried just video calls, I've tried having mum and siblings from mums home attend our time together, I've tried breaks in time together. But now mum says she simply won't encourage anymore due to the dysregulated behaviours and not being able to get out daughter to leave the house or entertain a video call with myself.
