Note: This account only posts external research that has been approved by the NAS research team.

This project is led by the University of Birmingham in collaboration with the National Autistic Society. BEAMS-ID aims to trial a therapy designed to reduce anxiety in adults with moderate to severe learning disabilities.

We are recruiting 9 advisory panel members to work with the research team to help with decision-making at different stages of the project. You must be:

  • a family carer of an adult with moderate to severe learning disabilities (they may or may not be autistic also)
  • living in the UK

As an advisory panel member, you will:

  • share your views and feedback on the project
  • discuss general progress as well as specific elements of the project
  • review documents

Meetings will take place:

  • 9 times during the course of the study (which will run for 5 years)
  • 4 meetings will be in person, and 5 will be held online

You will be paid £70 per meeting.
