Hello, just after some advice please. I have just found out that my son's primary school did not pass on any information to his new secondary school about his Autism diagnosis and needs despite them telling me they would. They had no information on him at all and did not have him down as SEND. Therefore he has missed out on additional support for transition. I am really angry. He had his diagnosis in February this year, was really upset about it but the school have offered no support at all. All attention and support is directed to disruptive children which my son is not. They assured me they would be discussing him with his secondary school but have not. I have sent his assessment report and info about my son to his secondary school but have had no reply as yet. How should I deal with this? I feel the primary school have not followed protocol. It took 2 months to actually speak to someone at school about the diagnosis when it came and as I said school have done nothing despite I feel it also being a safeguarding issue as my son was starting to harm himself as he was so distressed about the diagnosis. I feel really let down, like my son doesn't matter and quite alone with this. I just want to be sure of what the primary school should have done after my son received the diagnosis and in terms of sharing info with his secondary school. I feel as it was only a few months until he would be leaving, they didn't bother.
