School not supporting

We are currently waiting for a diagnosis for my son 8, but he is really struggling in school. He is so anxious and some days he can’t go in (albeit he manages most days but with panicking and tears) I have asked school to provide a weekly timetable so he knows what’s happening each week but they have refused.
can anyone help, what can I do to get the school to help us, it seems ridiculous that the school can’t tell him what lessons he has each week.

His main anxiety is around performance with school work.

  • Asking for a simple timetable is hardly asking the moon, so I get why you’re frustrated. I’ve found that putting the request in writing and linking it to his anxiety makes schools take it more seriously. If you can get the SENCo involved, even better. The NAS site has some good template letters too, which saved my sanity more than once.
