Toothpaste

Hi there, any recommendations/ strategies to help my little one who is having sensory difficulty with mint toothpaste. At the moment we are still using the young strawberry toothpaste. I have bought ones with no flavour and a watermelon flavour but they cannot tolerate either.  As they get older, I will be running out of supermarket options suitable for their age. Anyone else experiencing this? Thanks in advance.

  • There was a thread recently where a group of us adults were discussing having problems getting a toothpaste we could tolerate, including me. At the moment the only one I've found that I can use is Sainsbury's Stamford Street one, which is a mild mint flavour. But if your little one cannot tolerate any mint flavour, why not continue with the strawberry one?

  • Thank you for your reply. I will have a look for the previous thread. They can continue with the strawberry, but the one they like is only recommended for 8 years old and under.

  • It would be interesting to know how the fluoride content is ‘delivered’ to the teeth - for example if you use double the amount of a lower fluoride toothpaste do you get the same benefit as a smaller amount of a higher fluoride content toothpaste? It might be worth asking your dentist about this.
