Where do we go for support?

it seems as though they turn 16 and there is nothing until they turn 18!

my daughter is not in school so no support from an educational facility, they attend 1-1 support with the services for young people centre but when it comes to help for their anxiety and mutism i just seem to hit wall after wall.

we are hopeful they can start college in september but to do that they need some decent support for their mutism and how to access an education with this, but will CAMHS get involved no cos they too old and not in crisis

i just feel lost and so alone in it all (i am also autistic and have ADHD so leading by example is challenging as i also find it difficult to speak sometimes and my daughter willl sense my anxiety from a mile away! and it makes hers even worse!!)

You mention your daughter's anxiety - we have some information on anxiety here which you may find useful, including how to get help and support.

We also have specific resources for autistic teenagers which you may like to share with your daughter.

And lastly, we also have the Parent to Parent service which you might find helpful to get some support from other parents. The Parent to Parent Emotional Support Service provides emotional support to parents and carers regarding their autistic children/grown-up children. The service is provided by trained volunteers with personal experience as the parent of an autistic child or adult. Our focus is on emotional support and understanding what it is like for you as a parent. We offer empathy, understanding, and a safe space to talk through your feelings and experiences.
