  • Hi there,

Your post is very interesting to me, my son is 16 and he has a lot of trouble with showering. As you say he will go in the shower when told but doesnt wash. However he also has some physical problems with co ordination and organisation so i thought that  the problem was couldnt not wouldnt. I also wash his hair and brush his teeth and wash his face Thankfully he doesnt need shaving often yet so my hubby does that once a week at the mo, i draw the line there, i have no wish to shave him myself! Likewise he isnt keen on this but doesnt resit, just rolls his eyes oh the fun of a teenager!

Im now wondering if its not his other problems holding him back from being more independant with his hygiene but his AS will be very interesting watching this post.

The only advice i can offer is i keep telling my son he may not like what im doing but no one else want to be around some one that smeels and looks greasy, sounds cruel but he needs concrete reasons for the things i ask him to do and do for him. Im hoping that he will eventualy learn to do it for himself in an attempt to stop me from doing it for him.

    Best of luck
