Where do I even start about an EHCP?

The school should have an officer whose job is to help you understand and navigate this process - they are called the Special Ediucational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO). Conact the school, speak to them and they should set up a meeting to work through this with you.

I will have a read of what you sent and do some research for myself too. 

I am hoping the school SENco gets in contact with me this week, they did say she was off sick yesterday so that is why I haven't heard anything.
