Residential care

I am really struggling with the reality of my son moving into residential care and the lack of control we have in this situation. We found a suitable placement but getting them to understand our sons needs is very difficult. Comminication is hit and miss and issues dont get addressed in the right way even though all staff are trained in autism. It feels exhausting constantly repeating the same things over and over again. Is anyone else struggling with any similar situations.

Parents
  • They have enough information to help them provide the right support hut it is possibly lost within care plans. They do have a lot of good information. But communication  between staff is often lost and consistent care is impossible. He is none verbal too so we feel that we have to be his voice. But we do feel a bit disconnected in the process.
