Co parenting of ASD child not working

Hi there,

My daughter is 8 and has been diagnosed with ASD. She lives with me 60% of the time and 40% with her dad, who is unsupportive of her diagnosis — either not accepting it or rejecting the label, and therefore not making any adaptations for her needs.

This has led to her refusing to go to his house on several occasions, and the situation is worsening. I spend a lot of time trying to help her feel able to go, but when I raise concerns with him, he often reacts negatively or makes her feel guilty for speaking to me.

I’m really at a loss and would appreciate any advice or guidance on what I can do to support her and manage this situation.

Thanks,
