Car seat problems

Hi I am a grandma and my granddaughter who is 4 and a half, non verbal and Autistic  has just started to become very agitated whilst in the car seat. This is a new thing as she generally is OK, we bought a bigger seat for her age but she nearly gets out of it and is putting herself at risk and everyone else. Tried lots of things but at a lots, bought gadgets. Any ideas that might work even for short journeys.

  • I’d also take a look at the car seat itself. I recall that as I got older, I started getting violently car sick and extremely overwhelmed by the straps, seat padding, and the way the seat jostled as the car moved. Furthermore, due to the elevated chair, the straps can dig into a child’s body even further in a painful way. Seatbelt pads are available for purchase online in different styles, as are fun shaped stickers for the windows, window shades to block out light, and other accommodations. Not sure if this is helpful, but there are tons of resources that might have the solution you’re looking for.
    best of luck!
