Newly diagnosed 14 year old. Where do I start.

So my son is newly diagnosed. I have no idea where to start. Waiting on the paperwork to come through in the post. School had broken up for summer, even though my son isn’t attending at moment due to EBSA I’m not sure what I am doing. How to help him and where to direct him to help him understand himself.

  • Make an appointment with your schools SENCO in September, my daughter is 8 she’s isn’t diagnosed yet but we have accommodations in place already, small but it’s a start like 5 min breaks when she needs them. You can also apply for DLA to pay for extra things you might need. I also went on a few parenting courses the council although I am also autistic it’s helped me understand her more.
