EOTAS?

I was just hoping that some of you may have experience of Education Other Than At School? We have tried two specialist schools now for our autistic daughter and I am not sure this second one is gong to work. I had heard of a lady on You Tube who was giving a lot of advice about how to request EOTAS. I know   about all the law around it, so I don't need help with that. Rather I am hoping to find help with how I put together a request. Do I have to cost everything out? Find the provision myself? How much detail do I need to give when approaching the LA for EOTAS (via an EHCP review) rather than simply requesting another school?

If anyone knows of any good resources you can point me toward or ideas about how to make a start I'd be super grateful. Thanks : )

  • Hi Tink,

I think with the EOTAS the hardest part is proving no other schools can meet need as it very possible to get EOTAS but definitely you have to prove it and alot of parents end up at Tribunal to get it granted. I hope I'm allowed to post this as its a recommendation for another group but please join Senparent support group tm on Facebook (they also have a website) . The founder of the group is ipsea level 3 trained in sen law and advocates and gives free advice (she was amazing with our appeal) and she successfully got EOTAS for her son. There are lots of free resources on there to help you navigate this.
