Clingy 7yr old

Hi can anyone offer any advice my 7 year son old has all of a sudden become really clingy it’s so intense. It’s to the point where he has to have one hand on me at all times I can’t even go to the loo alone he has to be sat on my knee. He is diagnosed with ASD and developmental delay he is also non verbal
