Hi, I’m a single parent with 3 boys. My eldest is 17 and has ASD.
We have received a Section 21 no fault eviction. I’m on the council waiting list because I can’t afford private rent and I’m not in a position to buy.
Our council works by putting us in a band and we have to bid on properties weekly. I’ve had a meeting with them and they’ve said realistically, the chances of a property coming up before eviction is slim, so we would be put into temporary accommodation.
This would be stressful for anyone but as you can imagine, for someone with ASD, it’s a complete overwhelm. Hating change, not knowing where we are going, not even knowing where the temporary accommodation will be or what it will be like.
I’m really worried about him and how he is going to cope with this and just wondered whether anyone has any advice?
