Support with emotions/changes at school

Hi all, I'm really struggling to support my son at the moment. The school have agreed he can have a laptop in his public exams, but this means he will need to use one all the time in his lessons now. He doesn't understand why even though I have clarified this with the school, and is really upset about it, headbanging and crying. Please, does anyone have any tips on how I can support him at this time?

  • Okay I’m not sure I am fully understanding the situation, but maybe that’s just because I haven’t encountered this issue before. So I have a few clarifying questions:

    1. The laptop in public exams is supposed to be an accommodation for him, correct?
    2. He is upset that he will need to use the laptop because it is a change in his routine?
    3. If yes to 1. and 2., is this an accommodation that can be reversed if he continues to struggle with this change?
    4. If yes to 1. and 2., is it possible that you can gradually incorporate the laptop into his lessons?
