Primary school admission appeal , Tips please

Hi Everyone

My son who will be 4 next month has been diagnosed last year. He started last September at a school nursery. They offered him a full time space and also to his twin sister.

The SENCO and Teacher, staff are doing an amazing job and he's made a lot a progress since he's started.

I apply for the same school for my twins reception application stated that my son has ASD and it's been refused. I was really disappointed but then though that the new school will gave the same support. When I receive the letter with the date of the home visit (end of this mouth) I called the school to let them about my son and ask for their SENCO to join the home visit. I have been told that she was really busy as she's teaching and she might not be able to attend.

So I decided to appeal, I have until Friday, I would like to get as much tips to support my appeal and also if you have some to support my daughter appeal also as I would like them to stay together.

Thanks

virginie

Thank for your reply, yes the nursery and reception are base in the same school. I knew that it 'not because my twins were attending the nursery that their space at the reception will be guaranty ( they have 60 spaces and more than 200 applications) but with my son condition I was hoping for them to stay as I thought it will be under a medical/social criteria . Both my daughter and son didn't get the space.

The home visit will be from the new school. The one they suppose to go in September. i check on the new school website and the SENCO is also teaching, doing administration and I feel she will be less available than the one at the present school. Also at their present school they have a Speech an Language practitioner on site and learning mentors who's helping my son and they don't have these staff at the new school.

I don't know the reason why they have been refused the space at the present school but I think that  it's because the admission school team at the council think (or by law) that any school can provide the same support to my son but reality is it's not.

    my son doesn't have statement , he's not 4 yet .
