We think our daughter may be showing some autistic traits

Hi Everyone,

I was just wondering if you could tell me what signs your young ones showed to make you think they may be autistic. We are still unsure with our daughter as she has always been a sensitive soul and has always had a few sensory issues that disappeared around aged 3 but they have came back with a vengeance now shes 4. (E.g. loud noises, hated the smell/look everything about baby wipes and will have a full on meltdown if we clean a table with them, certain texture of clothes, not being able to curl her toes in shoes). She also suffers with a stutter and vocal and motor tics and has now started toe curling ALL THE TIME! Her meltdowns seem to be out of this world and she is super aggressive and just can't regulate her emotions at all and the smallest thing sets her off. This has ramped up massively over the last month. Could this be a sign of possibly being on the spectrum? The GP won't take us seriously at all and the paediatrician isn't worried about her tics. We are going to book another appointment as it is starting to affect her daily life now and we just want to support her how best we can regardless of what is going on. Please send me your subtle signs in your children in case we are missing any she may have and to help plead our case for an assessment to put our minds at rest. It's breaking our hearts to see our loving, affectionate little angel struggling so much with her emotions and it really hurts when she kicks and hits me when she loses control completely. :-( She has always suffered with being easily overwhelmed all her life.

Thanks!
