For child to identify when they need the toilet using a picture cue.
- Adults take child to the toilet more regularly throughout the day using pictorial cues each time.
- Adult to introduce pictorial cue to child when going to the toilet for nappy changes and to sit them on the toilet each time.
- child to then start taking the cue card from PECS style book when an adult indicates it is time to go to the toilet.
- Child to independently initiate this over time
Add the word ‘toilet time’ once they understand the object of reference.
Child only sit on toilet for a couple of seconds then gets off. I just don't understand how a cue card will help. I don't think child is ready.
