Help! I cant stand my daughters emotional outbursts

I am really struggling with my daughters emotions and feel angry and anxious when she tells me she hates me. That shouting is the only way that helps her express anger. She just turned 8 and been diagnosed with autism.

Any tips? I have been suffering from anxiety and depression and dread being with her as I never know when will the next meltdown take place.

  • I am the same, son is asd 9 but maybe I'm horrible as I don't see this as an excuse for his aggressive words and reactions, I too walk on egg shells 24/7 and dread spending time with him. I have tried doctors camhs pediatrics etc and sadly no one really cares. There must be an answer out there and if I find it I'll let you know. You might disagree with me but I do not have a bar of it. I'm here for him to talk to, here to support him but I will not excuse or tolerate the reactions, he has consequences and is not allowed to use his autism as a crutch. I am autistic also so I try to empathise with him but just can't stand the thought of him being a nasty little boy with no regard for others. Sorry had to get that put as I really feel your pain!
