Hi, I work in a mainstream primary school. One of our Y6 boys has just got into trouble for bullying another child, but the strange thing is that they were friends. It isn't just that they have had a falling out, or anything like that, but he's just been persistently unkind to this other child. It has happened previously, too - last term he was friends with a different boy, and then started being really unkind to him, too.
This lad hasn't been diagnosed with ASC, or anything, but he has always been incredibly socially awkward, and displays other autistic tendencies.
When adults speak to him, he knows that what he is saying is unkind, but he can't explain why he does it.
I wondered if anyone else had come across this scenario, and had any advice on how to deal with it? Thanks
