school observation?

hi all i'm rather new in here, been reading posts for a while but this is my 1st post, I'm hoping someone maybe able to help me. my 6yr old daughter was diagnosed with asd a few months back and just waiting on fomal diagnosis on the 7th. Any way a few weeks ago her teacher called me into class at end of school saying they was having someone come in the next day to observe her in class, and could i sign the form so it could go ahead which i did.

now i'm wondering what exactly this could be for as they never gave me any more info and not heard anything more about it, has anyone else had this and know what it's about please i'm really confused x

  • I think you need to go into school and ask them.  When my daughter was seen by the Ed Psych in primary, I had to fill in a form myself as well as the school rather than just sign it but I went into the high school my daughter is registered with (but doesn't go) and did just sign a form a few weeks ago.  I know this was to do with the statement but the reason why I just needed to sign it rather than read it, was because it was me that initiated the process for the statement and I'd already filled in my bit.

School really should have explained who was coming to observe her and why.  You have a right to go in and ask.
