Hello
I am originally from the UK but at the moment I live in Central Europe. I am considering returning to the UK with my 4.5 year old autistic son. I have a couple of questions if you might be able to help
1.) Would my son's diagnosis abroad be valid (of course with translation) for SEN support in the UK?
2.) Where are the best areas for SEN support? (Looking at London/Essex/Bournemouth)
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you
Sarah
Hi Sarah - welcome to the community!
It is not necessary to have a formal autism diagnosis at all - let alone one from the UK vs abroad - for your son to be assessed to receive SEN support in school in England.
Of course, your son's existing diagnosis will definitely still be a great help to them when identifying your son's specific needs and how they can best be met.
These NAS articles explain more:

Hello! Thank you so much - I will check out those sites :) Much appreciated! :)
