mufti day

Just wondering if other aspies on this forum struggle with dress down day (mufti day) at school.

My youngest gets very anxious and hates these day as the children tend to misbehave more than usual.

  • My son doesn't have problems with this in his school as he loves wearing character based clothes (e.g. gruffalo) so he is happy to substitute those for his school uniform.

I struggle in work though - once a month we have a dress down day for charity and I always struggle to pitch what i'm supposed to wear.  I keep completely separate work and home wardrobes and some of the things I wear at home are not appropriate for work (e.g. low cut tops, scruffy looking jeans).  I find myself thinking about it a lot in advance.  Over the last few months I have come up with my own "non uniform day" uniform, i.e an outfit or two which isn't business wear but is still quite formal and "safe" from a professional standpoint.

Maybe you could design a non uniform "uniform" for your child so they know in advance what they will wear in this situation?
