What is a referral to ssfs or ffsf?

Our daughters newly diagnosed and the pedi, and speech therapist have been talking about getting us a referral to something I think they called ssfs of ffsf?

today her school said that they have the paperwork from surestart for me to sign, what is this and is it a good thing? They say it helps family's with autism and is a organisation that offers support And advice about managing autism

thanks

  • Hi thanks for your replys.

Ok so I haven't seen the paperwork yet but I think I've found out that its actually sfss,

its got something to do with inclusion support services for special needs support.

(formula scheme funding schools) Im not sure if this rings any bells with anyone, I feel a little clueless right now but am determined to educate myself. People involved dont svery very clued up or willing to give much info, like I'm expected to know about these things?

    thanks

  • Maybe it links with the Sure Start stuff and is Sure Start Family Services?

  • SS likely indicates social services but not sure what the other letters refer to.  Maybe Social Services Family Service?

  • Sorry, new 1 on me.  If I was in your shoes I'd ask them to explain it properly to you and/or asking them for a written explanation.  Then I'd take my time over it.  You don't have to accept something without understanding it.
