holidays during term time

Hi, I dont know if anybody can help me but with summer holidays being planned,I could do with some advice.

Our son is 11yrs and has aspergers and like alot of children like him he finds crowds a real problem, he doesn't relax and sticks like a limpet to me so we always take our holiday during term time, where itis alot less crowded and he and us don't get stressed out, and we can enjoy family time and our son gains life skills. The problem we have is with the new laws brought in regarding taking children out of school for holidays. Would we be able to cite the disability act or childrens rights to avoid being fined, itis another battle just to try to be a normal family.

hope someone can help

  • Hi i was given a grant for a holiday and booked ln december .School have just denied our holiday . I thought there was a act or something that says children with disabilities have extra compensation if going on holiday .So that families can go together .As with my son he is in a SEN school he as aspergers my husband has mobility disabilities so my daughter who dosn't live with us is coming to care and so i can have rest bite . Can anyone tell me if there is any way of going to the next level after getting a denied to go out of term time
